Holy- This is so awesome! I mean, I don't even know who this character is (who is it?), but I love that it's obviously not an Avatar character, because her eyes are distinctively a completely different style, yet it looks like you did that style very successfully! Which is awesome because the fact that you can imitate the Avatar style very well as well as doing this one means that you can switch between different styles and not be limited to just one. And the glow! The whole picture looks like it's glowing softly! Tell me, please, how did you manage to do that? xD Also, her hair! Wow. WOW. It's amazing, really! It looks so soft and floofy xD This is so simple but you did a fantastic job. And no, no critique this time, either. Except maybe the fingers, but you did it on purpose so it doesn't count rofl. Oh wait hold on, one thing. Her left eyebrow (her left, our right)... that shadow under it seems a little off. Is it supposed to be the shadow that her eyebrow is casting? Because the way it's done makes it look like her eyebrow is floating off her face due to the light source (if the shadow is not connected to what is casting it, then that means the object is floating above the surface of where the shadow is being cast). Do you kind of see what I mean? If it's supposed to be the shadow of the hair, well then you might want to adjust it anyway because it still makes the eyebrow look a bit like it's floating even if you didn't mean to make it the eyebrow's shadow. Anyway, still, amazing job!
Character: I have no idea. I just doodled, et voila! xDD Style: Thanks very much ^^ Glow: GIMP, of course! They have a filter. I'm such a cheater, ha ha ha! Hair: Thank you! Evil Eyebrow Shadow: I'll get on it right away Note Form of Response: I spent the day at an open day for a Biology course I applied for. My mind now works in bullet points o.o
Ahaha! Your own style, huh? Nice. I like that you have that but can still do the Avatar style. It's a very useful skill to have, I feel. And lol! Is it called, like, Glow or something? Or did you do something specific? As for the bullet points comment, sometimes they come in handy ;] But that's pretty funny. xD
xD It's true! I like to think of myself as being able to look at things pretty objectively, and most people either just plain out suck at drawing or inject their own style into the Avatar characters. They do it because some people might say that drawing exactly like someone else means you're unoriginal or don't have your own style, but that obviously doesn't apply to you because this picture proves it xD Subjectively, I prefer when people draw fanart looking like the original because it makes it seem more real, legitimate, official. xD Objectively, your fanart drawings are amazingly close to the Avatar canon style, there's just no doubt about it. Yup. Definitely cool. I want to know if there's a way I can duplicate the effect in Photoshop... xD
Well since GIMP is the skint little brother of Photoshop, I'm sure there's a Photoshop filter! In GIMP, It's just under "Filter", and then "Artistic", I think. One of those little... Side, off-y things.
